A family-owned business
WrinkleByte is built by a small, family-owned team — not a venture-backed company chasing growth metrics. We build the software we want to use ourselves, for the things we're responsible for maintaining.
Why "WrinkleByte"?
The name is for our dogs — Oscar and Zeke, who we still miss every day, and Poppy, our very wrinkly, very alive bulldog puppy who carries it forward now. Every wrinkle a little reminder that the things — and the ones — you love take upkeep, whether it's a dog, a house, a car, or the mower in the garage. "Byte" is our nod to the software side: keeping track of all of it, digitally, so nothing gets forgotten.
We think that's a pretty good metaphor for what Trend & Tend, our maintenance-tracking app, does — steady, unglamorous care, kept track of, so nothing important slips through the cracks.
What we believe
Software that tracks something as personal as your home and vehicles should respect your privacy by default, not as an afterthought. That's why WrinkleByte works fully offline, and why sync — when you want it — happens on a server you control, not ours. Read more on our privacy page.
